Cancer counselling charity We Hear You (WHY) have teamed up with nine local businesses offering products and services promoting good mental health and self-care to host WHYwellbeing month, a virtual fundraising event running throughout September.

Fundraising Officer Helen White says "Like all charities, our community fundraising was hugely impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. We've been delighted and grateful for the support of the local community and several local businesses, who are helping raise the £5,000 we need every single week that it takes to provide our vital services. It gave us the idea of setting up a series of virtual events, showcasing some of the amazing small businesses we have locally, boosting the morale of our supporters and (of course) raising some much-needed funds for WHY."

"The first event took place on 1st September, hosted by Michelle of Hell Scent (FM fragrances) - Michelle actually took over the slot last minute with hours to spare when another business had to cancel and raised more than £100 through sales and an online raffle.

Next up is Partylite on 3rd September, and we have events planned with Becky's Gifts, Avon, Usborne Books, Neal's Yard, Tropic Skincare, Body Shop at Home and Arbonne. Full details of the events and information about how to get involved are on our Facebook page. Thanks so much to all the businesses taking part, we really appreciate your support."
