News from Frome College today (June 16) included a special thanks to the generosity of the local rotary club and Wainwright Quarries, who have been funding a twice a week food programme.

The CEO of the quarry company was more than pleased to help out via the Wainwright Futures Foundation.

The foundation was set up a few years ago and Frome Rotary Peter Barkwill the CEO did not hesitate to make a donation to cover hot meals at the school twice a week.

The Wainwright Futures Foundation is a charitable fund set up by John Wainwright & Company Ltd to further its philanthropic work. It is administered by a group of trustees, and provides financial support for local projects that contribute to community flourishing or environmental sustainability. The Foundation receives 100 per cent of the proceeds from sales of the company's history book, One Hundred and Twenty Five Years of Quarrying: Our Story (2016).

The Principal of Frome College said in her newsletter: " This initiative has been warmly welcomed by our students and made a real positive impact on their college day."
