There's plenty to look forward to in the Frome area as Nub News has been able to highlight in the past week.

If you are a fan of big trucks, then you need to make a beeline to Hanson's Whatley quarry near Frome, is holding an open day from 10.30am to 3pm on Sunday, September 18.

All are welcome at the free event, which offers a host of family-friendly activities including giant quarry machinery displays and demonstrations, a raffle, vintage vehicle exhibition, and stands where you can learn about the workings of the quarry and the wildlife that calls it home.

See our report via this link for more details.

And speaking of getting out and about, we were pleased to report on a series events in the area when local people can put their best foot forward.

There's more to look forward to when the new Frome Community Bike Project swings into action in September.

The team recycle donated bicycles, teach bike maintenance skills and cycle confidence classes, offer a shared workshop and volunteering opportunities.

They will be out and about the region throughout the month. Find out more and check out where they will be via this link.

Also with an eye to the future, entries will open on Monday, September 12 for the county's biggest and most prestigious annual business awards - the Somerset Business Awards 2023 which are organised by Somerset Chamber of Commerce. Read more here.
