Former BBC broadcast journalist, health and technology writer, and podcaster on Parkinson's, Rory Cellan-Jones is coming to Frome this week to talk about his remarkable life.

His recently published memoir, Ruskin Park: Sylvia, Me and The BBC is both an ode to the glamour of 1950s television and a moving account of his compelling journey of discovery about his own beginnings after a childhood of secrets...

Rory will be in conversation with Frome's very own John Killah (retired solicitor, bestselling author and Fair Frome Trustee).

Winstone's Hunting Raven Books is hosting the event and copies of the book will be available to buy on the night.

The manager at Hunting Raven Books is Tina Gaisford-Waller.

'It is another real coup for Frome to be able to attract such a well-known broadcaster as Rory Cellan-Jones,' says Tina. 'The evening will include a Q and A session and I know that as well as wanting to know more about his fascinating new book, the audience on the night will also want to seek Rory's views on issues such as AI and the effect it will have on our future lives. The event is already proving popular but tickets are still available, although I would recommend early booking. Definitely an evening not to be missed!'

You can catch Rory at The Assembly Rooms in Frome (behind the Memorial Theatre) on Wednesday 15th November. Doors (and the bar) will open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Tickets are £6 and can be purchased online at www.bit.ly/roryfrome, in store at Winstone Hunting Raven Books on Cheap Street, or by phone 01373 473111.
