The biggest of the Frome social media pages is changing its policy on local business promotions in light of what it calls "These difficult times we are all facing. "
There have been a number of businesses closing up in Frome recently - although one of the favourites was not because of the economic climate but for the owners to retire.
Amica on Cheap Street closed its doors on September 7, the business had been around, as locals remembered it, 'forever'.
Round the corner, the fish and chip shop Barnacle BIll's DID close up with immediate effect at the end of August due to energy prices.
And along Cheap Street there are a number of empty shops and premises. The Settle tea rooms are still empty, the flower shop Hoi P'Loy moved business on line, and the dress and accessory shop next door, which was Fine Fettle is still empty after the shop closed in August 2021.
Meantime the Facebook Frome page has announced that they will allow local businesses to post once per week rather than the current two weeks so that Frome residents can be kept up to date on any promotions, events and activities.
