Police have released one man on bail and have two men still in custody following an assault in broad daylight in Frome.

Officers had a call from a member of the public at around midday on Monday 10 August, who reported witnessing an assault taking place in the St Johns Road area of the town.

On arrival officers found the victim, a man in his 30s, had suffered head and facial injuries in what is thought to be an isolated incident.

The victim was taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries but has since been discharged.

Police have arrested three men on suspicion of GBH. One has been released on bail while two men remain in police custody. Enquiries are ongoing, including a review of CCTV in the area.
