UPDATE: Woman arrested, police appeal for witnesses after early morning incident in Frome

Police have issued this update on an incident early this morning in Frome with the crime scene adjacent to St John the Baptist church being taped off.

"A woman in her 20s from Frome has been arrested on suspicion of GBH following an incident on Bath Street, Frome, shortly before 1.00am this morning (Thursday 17 September) in which a man in his mid-20s sustained knife wounds.

"She remains in custody at this time and enquiries are ongoing. A cordon has been put in place at the scene to facilitate an investigation and police patrols are being stepped up in the area.

"The victim was taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries and has since been discharged.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or who has information that could assist with their investigation. If you can help, call 101 and give the call handler the reference number 5220211158."
