Number one Market Place is a very special shop, welcoming to all, especially well behaved owners, and their dogs. But as many traders in Frome know, times are particularly tough and Not Just Pets is suffering, like several Frome businesses, with the town being very quiet.

So they have put out a reminder of what they offer, and an appeal to pop into their welcoming shop, Not Just Pets, which customers may remember from being over at the Iron Gates in Frome, want to remind customers that they offer everything for all kinds of pets, local delivery (dog sometimes riding shotgun) with a warning that they need to get more people through the doors.

They posted : Hello lovely customers! We need your help, please. As you know, we provide lovely free pet advice to all our customers, we WELCOME all dogs in the shop (provided their owners behave) and we offer a lovely, smiley local delivery service in the shape of marvellous Mike (and sometimes Ursa, too). We offer a large range of quality pet foods and accessories and are always happy to listen to our customers' needs."

Frome has noticeably been quieter recently - get shopping !

The owners added : " However, Frome has been very quiet of late and with all the banks closing, we know this prevents some lovely folk who always used to visit us from coming into Frome to have a mooch and shop. Matthew's lovely shop opposite us has closed and two other shops who had been in the town for many years on Bath Street have closed in the past year. We do not want to follow in their footsteps and we are not there yet, but times are very tough indeed in retail and we would certainly love to see some new customers in the shop.

"We would be VERY grateful if you could mention us to your families, your friends, even visitors to the town. We are aware that some people did not know that we are the same petshop that was at Irongates in King Street for many years and that we moved to No.1 Market Place in 2021 (during the last lockdown). "
