A young Frome Town footballer has been nominated for a top footballing award.

Sixteen year old Ethan Fielder has been nominated as Player of the Term nomination for the Southern Division of the ESPFA.

His citation reads : "Fielder has been impressive in the spine of the defence for Frome Town this season. Not only is he solid at the back and able to play multiple positions across the defence, but his attitude towards the game has been excellent and never leaves anything on the pitch. He also featured in the 'Team of the Week' in #MatchweekSix as well as being nominated in #MatchweekOne.'

Ethan, who lives in Warminster, told Nub News: " I play for Frome Town academy in the Southern Education and Semi Professional football academy league.

" I've been playing football since I was five and am a lifelong Tottenham fan (blame my mother for that).

" This is my first term at the club and I'm really enjoying being part of the team and the coaching and encouragement I have received.

" I've also really loved being part of the wider club and am looking forward to coming back and watching Frome Town FC as soon as they're allowed to play again, and hopefully one day I could play for them.

"I would like to thank everyone that has voted for me."

The Education and Semi-professional Football Academy work by setting up academies at non-league clubs. The players are also enrolled onto a study programme which is usually held at the football club (if possible) or at an external venue.
