Frome Town Council has announced the release of their new community grants following a redesign of the process. Councillors, staff and community organisations worked with Public Square to design a process to ensure that grant giving was fit for purpose and robust, whilst at the same time ensuring that it wasn't too difficult for very busy community groups to access and apply.

Last financial year the council gave over £156,000 to support the support the community through funding for organisations. Some of this was given out via grants and some of this was given out through the People's Budget – where the public are given the choice about where a portion of the budget is spent.

Children's' Mental Health Week runs for 1st – 7th February and aims to shine a spotlight on the importance of children and young people's mental health. Now in its seventh year, this year's theme is 'express yourself'.

Place2Be is the children's mental health charity that is behind the campaign and says: "Expressing yourself is about finding ways to share feelings, thoughts, or ideas, through creativity. This could be through art, music, writing and poetry, dance and drama, photography and film, and doing activities that make you feel good.

Frome Town FC has been empty of fans

Frome Town FC has updated fans on their financial situation, how they are keeping fans shirts the same, and about getting friendly over their exit from the FA Trophy.

In its regular newsletter the club has said that it has " Reached an amicable resolution with the FA regarding our exit from the competition. We look forward to trying to match and better our progress in the competition next season. "
