On Saturday the Frome RFC 3rd XV we're on the road in Somerset 3 South, when they faced Wincanton RFC 1st XV.

It was going to always be a tough day at the office for Ali Fishers men having only travelled with 14 players, however there was sigh of relief when Frome were welcomed with two willing recruits who helped bolster the side prior to kick off.

The game kicked off in memory of Wincanton RFC's Ex Chairman, John Bastable who'd sadly passed away and the home side certainly showed there passion and desire to get the win.

Frome battled hard and used there experienced forwards well in both the Scrums and Lineouts, but unfortunately it wasn't enough for the large Wincanton side that were just too strong in the day.

Frome's only try of the day came from a well placed cross field kick from Toby Reilly that was scored by Ryan, a loaned player from Wincanton.

Frome's man of the match went to new signing James Hazel for the hard work in defence and superb tackling.

A special thank you have to go out to Liam and Louis for playing for us from Crewkerne.

This Saturday the Frome RFC 3rd XV welcome Chard RFC 3rd XV to the Lane.
