Frustrating for Frome RFC seconds, as they battle Westbury RFC : Great match photos

This weekend the Frome RFC 2nd XV welcomed local side Westbury RFC 1st XV.

Desperate for a win Frome would come slightly undone from the outset with some last minute availability, and it was the visitors who came out the blocks flying and it was quickly obvious that their Front Row had the upper hand, Frome losing both their hookers early on to injury.

Westbury scored two early tries, but Frome dug deep and following a good set from the Forwards and a great break by Full Back Harry Stamp, Frome found themselves just shy of the line, with Prop Mark Regler crashing over to score.

Frome then committed the cardinal sin by switching off at the kick off, Westbury gathered the kick and ran in for another try.

Frome would find things more difficult after being issued a yellow card.

With the second half kicking off, Frome knew they'd have to dig deep, and despite being positive Frome didn't start well conceding a try within two mins of kick off.

But Frome didn't give up and kept battling and were unfortunate to not score, with a going try being held just short and one being disallowed.

Frome Scrum Half, Billy James stood out as a continued threat asking questions of the visiting defence, and with some great line breaks and work at the breakdown, Full Back Stamp got the try he deserved scoring under the posts.

FT: Frome RFC II 12-26 Westbury RFC

Players of the Match went to Scrum Half Billy James and Full Back Harry Stamp.

The Second XV now take a break from League fixtures and are back in action on December 2nd when they travel to Devizes RFC II.
