To celebrate the We Feed the World photographic exhibition in Frome, The Gaia Foundation & Be the Earth have collaborated with The Whittox Gallery, Gallery at The Station, Vallis Veg, 42 Acres, Frome Town Council and local producers to curate a programme of food and farming events through August and September.

Deputy Director of The Gaia Foundation who produced We Feed the World Rowan Phillimore, said: "With the release of the IPCC report this month and with extreme weather events occurring daily around the world, there has never been greater urgency to convene spaces in which local solutions can be discussed.

"The talks address issues of climate, adaptation, health and access through the food and farming lens. This is a rare chance to hear some of the UK's leading authorities on food justice, nutrition and rewilding in Frome."

Among other fascinating talks there will be an event celebrating Wild Nutrition, with Alex Laird, author of From Root to Stem in conversation with Tasha Stevens Vallecillo, the production manager at 42 Acres.

Alex and Tasha will explore the importance of nutrient dense, wild and locally grown foods to our health and immunity, and how we can incorporate this greater diversity into our diets. With accompanying visuals, plants and produce, they will also consider ways in we can ensure locally diverse foods are shared equitably across society.

Another highlight, a discussion on Small Farm Future - with author Chris Smaje who is co-founder of Vallis Veg. Chris will be joined by Robyn Minogue from The Gaia Foundation's Seed Sovereignty Programme, James Turner from communications organisation Glimpse and Peter Macfadyen, author of Flatpack Democracy.

One more date, a special on September 9, on the foremost UK expert on agricultural rewilding, Ben Goldsmith, the Chair of Rewilding Britain. .

And alongside all the special events, if you have ever wanted to know more about Vallis Veg there will be special site tours on Sundays.

We Feed the World, the celebrated photographic exhibition smallholder farmer portraits by Rankin, Graciela Iturbide, Pieter Hugo and Carolyn Drake and many more, runs until Friday 10th September at the Gallery at The Station and the Whittox Gallery, Frome. www.wefeedtheworld.org
