McDonald's, including the one in Frome which has only just re-opened after a refit, says all of its restaurants in the UK are to close for sit-down meals, in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.

The Frome branch closed on March 1 for a refit but re- opened a few days ago with a new look high tech seating area and serving space, as seen from these photos taken today (March 17).

But these will now all close from tomorrow morning as the company moves to only serving takeaway, drive-thru meals.

The fast-food chain announced late Tuesday that the new rules will apply to all outlets , in the UK and the United States, from opening hours on Wednesday.

The company told the American stock exchange "this temporary change is the right decision for consumers, communities, and business."
