Cancer counselling charity We Hear You is hosting its annual 'Santa Dash' 4k fun run on Sunday 12th December to raise funds for its free counselling and emotional support for people affected by cancer or a life threatening condition.

Following the success of the virtual Santa Dash in 2020, this year WHY are running both a virtual and an in-person event. The Frome Santa Dash takes place at Frome Cricket Club, with the assistance of Frome Running Club. Runners can check in from 9.30am ahead of a start time of 11am. The virtual event can be completed any time on Sunday 12th December and you can run as far as you like!

Fundraising Officer Helen White says:

"The Santa Dash is a fab event and once again it's our fundraising farewell to 2021! It's been a far from normal year for charities like ours, and we'd absolutely love you to help us finish on a high!

You don't have to be super fit, or even to 'dash' - joining in is the most important thing. Although you're welcome to go for a 'PB', and we have Frome Running Club with us for official timings, taking it at your own speed is totally acceptable, especially if you have small Santas in tow. If you're taking part virtually, you get to choose the location, the time and the distance - but don't forget to ssend us your photos!

It costs just £10 to register, which includes your Santa suit and a medal at the finish line. And there's no minimum sponsorship, although the more you raise, the more money for WHY's vital services for people in the community affected by life threatening conditions.

We'll be there selling food and drinks to enjoy before or after your race at the event in Frome and we hope to see lots of you there to kick off Christmas!"
