Offering Christmas Joy To Those In Frome Who Need Us Most This Christmas

9th Dec 2021 | Local News

While most children will be looking forward to a fabulous Christmas, some in Frome will miss out. Following the past year of hardship, many families won't be getting presents or a big Christmas dinner with all the trimmings. Some will be cold, hungry, scared and isolated - continuing to struggle with the same issues that they face every day of the year

Purple Elephant - Frome providers of charitable services for children and disadvantaged families - is reaching out to the town to respond generously in this season of goodwill. Please donate.

Purple Elephant will be offering as series of fun Christmas party-style activity family sessions, including Santa-presents for the children and, thanks to partner organisation Fair Frome, a healthy meal for all who attend. In addition Purple Elephant are also gifting free tickets for families to Frome's two local theatres' Christmas shows and the chance to take part in adventure sports activities such as bouldering.

The organisation is requesting your help and generosity via donations to deliver warmth and joy to in-excess of 170 children and their parents/carers through six projects this December.

Founder, Sue Willis, explains: "It is truly shocking how many children are struggling in Somerset – right here in Frome. Please help us to support local families by donating via our website. Every amount really does help - however modest. If you can make a one-off gift of a few pounds or even a monthly small donation we can continue to make some lives a bit less of a struggle, all year round."

In the past year alone, the team, via its 5 services, have supported over 800 local families on low-incomes, with additional needs or facing other forms of disadvantage.
