According to reports from the tourist office in Nunney the former Theobald Arms pub at Nunney Catch has been sold for £255,000.

The pub, first listed in the seventeenth century has been closed since 2002.

Mendip District Council recently approved plans to build up to 82 homes on a field opposite, but it is not known what plans the new owners of the pub have.

It was sold at auction by Cooper & Tanner and was described as requiring renovation throughout - as these photos show.

The building is Grade II listed and in the sale listing it was described as having accommodation " Over two floors plus good sized attic which could provide additional bedroom and also a cellar area under the living room. The public areas comprise a large main bar area, with a door to the living space, a rear bar area, ladies and gents cloakrooms and a large skittle alley and function room to the rear."
