A true Fromie, and Frome football fan, author Kevin Snelgrove, wants to see football in the town restarted with the results they had, not voided, under the current Football Association decision.

Born in Frome in 1960, Kevin has authored over 80 books, but before the coronavirus pandemic, it was his last book, launched at the football ground in October, which holds the special place in his library.

He said: " Frome Town Football Club was in second place when the decision was made (to suspend play) and enjoying an excellent season with good attendances.

"I personally think it would be a good idea to re-start the season where we left off for ALL football, irrespective of what date it would continue and then readjust the later seasons, so no one would lose out."

Kevin, who grew up in Nunney and returned to Frome in 1980, has been supporting the club since 1978.

He said: " It is a great club, they have a wonderful set of supporters and people who run the club behind the scenes. I considered it an honour to have written this local book."

The former Frome College student's first book was The Official Carry On Facts, Figures & Statistics, published in March 2008 and launched at Pinewood Studios for the 50th anniversary of the legendary films

The Frome football book, the Official Frome Town Football Club Quiz Book, also includes Memoirs of The Hill.

So a question from Kevin's book - do you know the answer?

Which Scottish League club did Frome Town play in a pre-season friendly in 1980?

Answer: Dundee FC

The book is available from Kevin via Facebook messenger or [email protected] for £8.99 which includes post and package or from amazon.
