Frome Library may be shut to the public due to the coronavirus outbreak - but the resident toys are making full use of the facilities while the humans are absent.

Library staff have captured a photo of a captivated audience of cuddlies enjoying a storytime session being hosted by Big Ted.

And library supervisor Cerian Amery reckons there may be more fun photos of the toys' shenanigans to come.

She told Frome Nub News: "Big Ted's story is clearly enthralling his audience who are all sitting very still during the reading.

"I've heard on the grapevine that the toys might be involved in other activities in the near future, including a game of hide and seek."

Cerian advises keeping an eye on the Frome Library Facebook page here: their site to find out what the toys get up to next.

In the meantime, library members can download e-Books, e-Magazines and e-Audio for free through the Somerset Libraries' online service here the on line service If you are not a member already, you can join online.

The Frome Library Facebook page will also be featuring craft activities and storytime sessions to keep little ones entertained.

And anyone who has been using the library's ancestry service to research their family history can continue to do so from home.

ProQuest has made the website, normally only available from Somerset Libraries' computers, accessible for home users from the LibrariesWest website for a limited time. See here: for details and log into the site using your library card number and PIN.

Library members are also being reminded not to worry about any overdue books - all late fees will be waived when the library reopens.
