The Frome Methodist church has thrown open its doors to help local families still waiting for power to be connected.

The church is offering hot drinks and somewhere warm as the power company warns some homes may not very reconnected until 11pm. The Rev posted: "We recognise there are a number of houses without power in Frome and surrounding areas. We've checked that we've got power at Frome Wesley Methodist Church so we're going to open up for the day from 11am for anyone to come and charge phones, make a hot drink, stay in the warm, make some lunch (bring tin of soup or suchlike with you) - we've got a full catering kitchen and tables and chairs…. "Bring anything you need to hunker down for a while - help yourself to tea and coffee and squash in the kitchen, warm up food, stay warm. Please share with anyone who is without power… "To park in our car park, turn into the road opposite the Memorial Theatre, and half way up the road on the left you'll see a sign saying Wesley Methodist Church Car Park - go along the lane and into the car park and park in any of our spaces. Walk along to churchyard and down path, and the door on the front nearest to the path will be open for you. " See you there! Rev Den Harding
