On Saturday Frome RFC travelled to Bath to face old rivals Walcot RFC looking to build on the previous week's home win against Swanage & Wareham.
Lansdown is never any easy away game, and the side had more than just league points at stake as the fixture doubled up as a Bath Combination Quarter Semi Final.
The visitors started strongly with Player of the Match Ali Frost breaking through the home defence.
The first score came after 20 mins when Captain, Geoff Taylor's pass found No.8 Eliki Bainimoli out wide to score, the conversion going just wide.
The home side came back strongly and took the lead through a converted try.
Frome continued to press with the Back Row of Alex Mallon, Sam Bartlett and Bainimoli all carrying strongly. And it wasn't long until Frome retook the lead when Full Back Henry Bull converted a penalty.
Bull and the home fly half then traded penalties to leave Frome leading 11-10 at half time.
HT: Walcot RFC 10 - 11 Frome RFC
The second half continued to be fiercely contested but Frome extended their lead thanks to another Bull penalty.
Walcot came back and a try out wide allowed them to take the lead.
Frome then built a number of phases and Scrum Half Zach Bartlett used his strength to force himself over to restore Fromes 4 point lead.
However with time running out the home side manufactured a try to lead by 1point.
From the kick off Frome pinned the home side in their 22 and were awarded a penalty but with time up the kick drifted wide to leave the home side winners of a closely fought game.
FT: Walcot RFC 20 - 19 Frome RFC
Player of the Match, sponsored by I.M.S. limited went to Centre Ali Frost.
The side now take a well earned break as they head into Christmas Holidays, and are next back in league action in January 6th when they welcome Yeovil RFC to The Lane.
