Yeovil RFC 28 - 0 Frome RFC II
Match report by Andy Vince
The Frome RFC 2nd XV made the trip down to the bottom of the county to visit Yeovil RFC 1st XV on Saturday.
Frome were giving debuts to Academy player Max Stickley, following in the footsteps of his father, uncles and his brother, who have all represented the club, and Ryan Withey being called up from the 3rd XV.
The first half started well for Frome with a really good kick off by Fly Half Ben Eley. But Frome let the home side off by giving away a couple of soft penalties which the Yeovil kicker put Frome back into their 22.
On 8 mins Yeovil took full advantage of this and went wide with their No.8 finding a gap in defence and touching down for the first score. The kick was missed.
The two sides then cancelled themselves out until Yeovil were awarded a penalty on 14 mins which they pointed to the posts, which was kicked.
Frome tried hard to get into the game, getting the ball to the Wing, Josh Keene who is growing with every game, making a great break down his wing, and getting inside his man only for the Yeovil defence to get a last ditch tackle in and the ball went forward.
Yeovil turned defence into attack and from the advantage, attacked well getting into Frome's half and getting behind the Frome defence.
Some great tackling by Captain Ethan White and Max Stickley would hold out further attacks. But Yeovil managed to find a way through scoring in the 21st min. The kick was missed.
Yeovil had all the confidence now and were trying to get around the Frome defence, but a great try saving tackle from Full Back Kyle Williamson kept Yeovil out again.
On 35 mins Frome lost their talisman Gordon Grieson to an injury, with Ali Fisher coming onto the field taking his place.
With the Frome set pieces not working as well as they would have liked it was hard for the forwards to provide the platform for the backs to attack. Number 8 Stu Elliott did amazingly well to get the back out of the scrums even as they went backwards.

Half time saw a change in the forward pack with Rob James making way for Alex Twigger.
The Second half saw both sides cancelling themselves out again. With some strong running from Jonny Harris and the ever present Mark Regler.
Flanker James Milton making his presence know at the breakdown, which lead to the two sides having an altercation on 50mins which lead to a yellow card for the Yeovil number 6.
Full back Williamson was now being kicked to move, but he was returning with some strong running and made ground on every kick, being supported well by Ed Derwent from his wing.
On 60 mins Yeovil noticed a miss match in midfield which they took full advantage and touched down. The kick missed.
On 68 mins Yeovil were awarded a penalty, and from the resulting line out they caught and drove over the line. Kick was missed.
Frome never gave up and kept trying to get a score, nearly going over the line, only for the ball to be ripped.
Then with almost the last touch of the game, Yeovil went wide again and managed to find the gap and touched down.
FT: Yeovil RFC 28 - 0 Frome RFC II
Player of the Match was jointly awarded to No.8 Stuart Elliott for his composure at the back the Scrum and his carries through out the match, and to Full Back Kyle Williamson, didn't drop one high ball, ran hard and straight and made a try saving tackle.
