Frome Town saw their league cup run come to an end against Cirencester Town on a very tricky pitch at Badger's Hill. With the game being called off before kick off a week previously as the ground was frozen this time excess water was the problem but the referee gave the game the go ahead to everyone's relief.

Both teams made some changes as is usual for this competition and Frome started superbly with veteran goalkeeper Kevin I Sawyer in the Cirencester net making a great save from Joe O'Loughlin in the first minute then Jon Davies rattling the crossbar just after. The pitch was not conducive to good football but both teams were committed and the game was entertaining with end to end play, Kyle Phillips keeping the scores level on the half hour mark with a fine save and the first half ended goalless with Frome having the better chances but failing to really trouble the goalkeeper.

The Cirencester team took the game to their hosts in the second half with Sidibe threatening down the left side. Sawyer made a smart block from Davies on the hour mark and just after Phillips was called on again in the Frome goal. The final real chance of normal time came right at the end when a well taken Simpson free kick was tipped over the bar for a corner.

With the scores level it was straight to a penalty shoot out and the stress that entails. Johnny Gorman took Frome's first penalty cancelling out Cirencester's goal. Kyle Phillips got his hands to the second bit couldn't keep it out before Simpson put his effort wide of the post. The visitors scored again, as did Rex Mannings with Cirencester's next hitting the bar and Joe O'Loughlin stepping up to make it 3-3. The visitors made no mistake with the 4th goal and Sawyer went the right way to save Teale's effort and see them through to the semi-finals 4-3.
