Richard Potter, on behalf of the 2nd XI was presented with the Cup for the Division 1 title, thanks to a thrilling final day victory at Taunton back in September.

Later in the evening, Frome Cricket Club were absolutely delighted to be announced winners of the Ladbroke Merit Trophy. This prestigious award, for Club of the Year, was given to the Club in recognition of the strong season for both the 2nd XI and 3rd XI, the development and support of junior players moving into senior cricket and the acknowledgement of the Club's high fair play scores throughout the year.

Richard Potter said "this award is for all the players who, every week, give their all for the Club, whilst playing the game in the right spirit. To be acknowledged by our peers as being a great club to play against makes us immensely proud".

The Club are thrilled that their efforts to develop a strong junior set-up and that their focus on playing the game in the right spirit has been recognised right across the county. Nick Larder, Chair of the Club, said: "We are an open and accessible cricket club within the heart of Frome, if you are looking for a change of club, looking to get back into cricket or indeed have moved into the area, what better club to join than the Somerset Cricket League Club of the Year! Get in touch by emailing the club on [email protected] or call Mark on 07802 950452. "
