Somerset Sight

Somerset Sight is a local charity that has been supporting sight impaired people across Somerset for over a hundred years. We are a not-for-profit organisation, providing practical and emotional support to over 3,000 people and their families across Somerset who are experiencing sight loss.

Discovering you are losing your sight can be a devastating blow. It can be a disorientating and lonely time. Our aim is to provide services, training and leisure activities that will help maintain independence and improve the quality of life of anyone who is affected by sight loss.

Our flagship Volunteer Visiting Service, established in the 1990s, is our befriending service that provides one to one support for people with sight loss who are living independently in their own homes. We are looking for volunteer visitors in the Frome area, so if you have a couple of hours to spare a week and would like to make a big difference to someone's life, please contact us.
