With the coronavirus lockdown still on, Frome is gradually moving towards more shops open but some key places remain shut. Here is the latest

Many of Frome shops and businesses are eagerly awaiting details on how and when they can safely re-open.
Sadly the local cinema, remains shuttered, although some residents have said they are working with friends to see if it could be opened for just a handful of film lovers. Watch this space.
There are still a very limited number of trains going from Frome. As of May 5 three, two towards Westbury, one heading the other direction to Weymouth.
Meantime: All the major supermarkets, Boots and Superdrug are open, as are the two health food shops in the Westway Centre. but most places continue with reduced hours, all have social distancing measures in place have shopping times for key workers and the NHS.
What else is open:
- Homebase and alongside it, just for bicycle repairs, Halfords.
- B&M bargains at the Frome station
- Proper Job has now re-opened in Frome 9-5 Mon-sat 10-4 Sun.
- Timpson's shoe and repair service at Sainsbury's
- McDonalds, KFC and Pizza Hut
- Greggs in the centre of town
- The Town Hall - with all councillors and officials working remotely
- The sports centre and Frome College remain closed - although the school is still looking after the children of key workers.
What's cancelled - and what's on
- All the shows at the Memorial Theatre and at the Merlin Theatre have been postponed until the autumn.
- Currently the Frome Half Marathon is (according to its web site) still scheduled to go ahead on July 19.
