Community organisation, the Frome Toy Library, is delighted to have been offered a place for its fundraising Toy Sale on Saturday 7th September at the Rotary Club Charity Shop in the Westway precinct.

Frome families can grab bargains galore with lots of pre-loved toys including games, toddler toys, soft toys and baby equipment like a baby bouncer and play gym all kindly donated to help this local resource continue its work.

A Royal Navy Bomb Disposal has attended Frome Recycling Cycling today (August 28) after a suspect item, believed to be a grenade, was found.

According to workers at the recycling centre, the item was found in a bag on top of a skip at the recycling centre, and it is currently not known who brought the device in. The centre was closed to the public and workers at around noon today.

Frome Recycling Centre has temporarily closed while a bomb disposal team makes safe what appears to be a grenade, which was brought in for disposal.

A spokesman for the Somerset Waste Partnership has asked people to check via the red button below for the hazardous materials recycling sites can accept and those – including explosives and ammunition – they cannot.

Frome Cricket Club 2nds endured a chastening leather-chasing afternoon on Saturday but fought valiantly to scramble 18 points against Burnham-on-Sea and head into a winner-takes-all final match of the season in second place.
