FROME CHILDREN'S FESTIVAL - 2024

Frome Children's Festival's 10th anniversary!

Join this FREE day-long celebration of childhood taking place at the Cheese and Grain, the Market Yard carpark, Welshmill Woods, Welshmill Park, the Roundhouse on 'the other side' and, indeed the air itself – with TWO zipwires, including an accessible full-harness one, spanning the river.

Creative highlights include hand and face art from The Glitter Temple, face-painting, scrapstore crafts from The POD and puppetry from The Magical Storybox and theatre company, Wild Words, will be back at the festival too.

Also during the day, children from 0-5 years old can join music workshops ande budding young musicians of all ages to record themselves in Frome's own professional music studio. Both the workshops and the recording sessions can be pre-booked ahead of the day or on arrival at the welcome desk.

There will be forest school fun from Shared Earth learning, clay-modelling from Frome Town Council, den-building, yoga for all, a fairy trail, BMX workshops from King Ramps and accessible Basketball and Boccia from sports coaching experts, Nova, plus fun rocket-launching experiments from Science Boost

New for this year is Owl Enlightenment - swooping into town with real, live, rescue-owls. And another first-time visitor to the Children's Festival will be circus skills teacher, performer and Aerialist, Solomon Bain - running skills-classes for all ages.

The festival does not permit onsite merchandising or selling, other than of food and drink - including the Crumpeteers, ChikChak Falafel street food, Events Horizon, Mr Withey's Ice Cream van, the Cheese and Grain cafe and Fair Frome's pay-what-you-can, make your own wrap stall.

The event also offers fast-pass queuing assistance to children with additional needs and professional support workers are available to assist families on the day. Please enquire about booking a support worker ahead.

The festival runs from 11am-5pm (with the zip-wire and glitter/face-paint queues closing at 4pm). To gain entry, all families have to do is simply turn up on the day. Tickets are not essential to join in but if festival-goers are able to book ahead, the organisers emphasize that it really helps them to plan the best day.
