WALK AND TALK

Come and take a walk around the grounds of this cemetery in Vallis Road (BA11 3EH). Learn a bit of the history and about some of its residents. Joseph TANNER of Butler & Tanner, AMES of Ames Kent, John SINKINS who commissioned the building wherein is the Frome Museum, HOUSTON of The Woollen Mill, LE GROS of The Silk Mill and North Hill House, and many others including the MILLER Brothers who were drowned by the sudden breaking of the ice on Orchardleigh Lake.

See the linear orchard, taking shape at the side of the cemetery; hear of the plans to develop a nature trail and in due course a Heritage and Educational Resource Centre. Learn about our need for more volunteers to bring all this to fruition. Once again DoE participants are helping. Could you perhaps "Adopt a Grave"? One of those with no living relatives, to keep it tidy and free of weeds; could you assist with strimming, or mowing?

Come and enjoy an hours stroll in the fresh air, maybe feel you could give it a go and offer your services. (Please note that we do not yet have a Safeguarding Policy in place and therefore any under 18's must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

These WALK AND TALK Events will take place on the first Saturday of the month from April to September, subject to weather.
