Traction Engines at the Bath and West Railway
The Royal Bath and West Showground.
Leisure
This is to advise that the Bath and West Steam Railway have now started a new group within our engineering club. So if this is of interest please write to [email protected].
We now have a number of members who have an interest in this field of engineering and we felt this could be of interest to other model engineers. The models being between 2 and 4" in scale. We have also decided to open our workshop facilities early in May during the evening from 7 to 9 pm so if anyone wishes to join us but who finds time limited because of work, can now come and see us on a Wednesday evening. Help will be also on hand with engineering if required.
We have a capability to build most things [in fact we are in the process of building a Black 5 loco] and the equipment we have includes different sizes of lathe, milling machines and a forge.
Our website is www.essmee.org.uk.
We also have more projects in mind for this year if we can and these include extending the railway, to revamp our workshop with an extra lathe and milling machine, to put a roof on our steaming bay to protect members from the rain as well. The carriage extension shed which was started in January is now nearly completed and this will allow us to run larger trains at the various public running events we plan to hold this year.
If this is of interest then please write to [email protected]. We look forward to hearing from you.
