No shortage of artistic talent in Frome

New pub theatre group for Frome opens its doors

Frome has a new theatre group that plans to run small-scale, immersive productions in the town.

And currently it's looking for talent of all kinds. It's welcoming anyone who wants to be involved, including actors, directors, scriptwriters and admin people.

"The town has excellent larger theatres, especially the Merlin and the Memorial Theatre," says the group's Kit Sadgrove. "But despite having many fine pubs, we don't have small theatre."

Pub theatre, he says, is ideal for new writing. And with Frome having so much talent, it's a good place for artists to hone their skills.

The group aims to be inclusive, socially relevant, entertaining and popular. It also aims to avoid activities already done by other organisations, such as children's theatre, musical, poetry, circus and physical theatre.
