This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in legal administration who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of families during challenging times.
What you will be doing:
As a Family Law Assistant, you'll provide essential support to our family law solicitors, helping manage a busy caseload that includes divorce, child arrangements, financial matters, and domestic abuse cases. Your role will ensure the smooth running of files from instruction to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing and formatting legal documents and correspondence
- Managing diaries, court dates, and client appointments
- Liaising with clients, courts, and third parties in a professional and compassionate manner
- Opening and closing files, maintaining accurate records
- Supporting with case management systems and billing procedures
What you will need to succeed:
- Previous experience in a legal assistant or legal secretary role (preferably in family law)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle sensitive matters with empathy and discretion
- Proficiency with legal case management software and Microsoft Office
