Industrial action by RMT is set to affect thousands of South Western Railway passengers
Highway changes to Market Place and Cork Street in Frome have been approved by Mendip District Council.
The work includes the resurfacing of existing footways, the introduction of a central splitter island and two pedestrian crossings, changes to the existing bus stop layout including new shelters, and creation of new disabled and loading bays in the Market Place.
Working out a scheme for a new extension gives an opportunity for extra space, but it is also an opportunity to think about and potentially remodel other existing linking areas.
The project brief for this project is a straightforward rectangular extension with sliding doors on to the south facing garden, running the length of the rear of the house.
The first household to sign up to Frome's Solar Streets has already had its panels installed and is soaking up the sun to provide renewable energy and save money and reduce carbon emissions.
Interest in the initiative since it launched in March this year has gone from strength to strength with over 90 enquiries received, 53 surveys completed and 15 installations already underway.
