Residents who have not yet had their coronavirus vaccination are being invited to attend a special drop-in clinic at the large vaccination centre at the Bath and West Showground, near Shepton Mallet.

All eligible adults who have not yet had a first dose, or booked a slot through the National Booking Service (NBS), can come along to the vaccination site any time between 10am and 6pm on Saturday and Sunday (June 12 and 13).

Litter Warriors

With the recent easing of lockdown restrictions, the Litter Warriors have finally been able to head out for their first litter pick of 2021. On the 26th May and the team returned with gusto and armed with their pickers and bags, cleared the area around Homebase, Sainsbury's and along Manor Road. A huge amount was gathered, and many items were recycled where possible.

As group activities are now permitted, the Litter Warriors will resume their group litter picks twice a month and will have a whole schedule of dates and locations available soon. Anyone is welcome to join the Litter Warriors so please do get in touch by emailing [email protected] any suggestions for future locations are always welcome too.

With summer finally here, what better way to finish off the upcoming Frome Festival celebrations than with a family fun-filled day in Rodden Meadow on Sunday 11th July.

Frome Town Council are inviting you to 'Picnic in the Meadow', which will take place from 11am – 2pm. It's a chance to enjoy one of Frome's most loved open spaces with the addition of lots of free nature inspired activities.

New play area at Avanti in Frome

The newly developed outdoor space has areas for mud and water play, climbing, planting flowers and vegetables

Principal at Avanti Park School in Frome, Abby Atkins, is delighted to be able to share details of their new outdoor learning and play area for Reception and Nursery children.

There has been considerable investment from the to develop the area into one of the best in Frome. The newly developed outdoor space has areas for mud and water play, climbing, planting flowers and vegetables, den building and riding trikes and bikes. There will also be a wildflower meadow where staff and children can share stories. Abby Atkins said: "We are incredibly lucky to have this wonderful outdoor space where children can learn, play and develop their independence and creativity."
