Frome Cricket Club 2nds' quest for promotion to the Somerset Premier ended in disappointment on Saturday as they came up agonisingly short in their winner-takes-all clash against Long Sutton at Fromefield.

In an incredible game which swung dramatically one way then the other on many occasions, it was the visitors who just managed to just squeak over the line.

Champions Frome Cricket Club lost their final league game of the season against Taunton Deane 2nds, despite an excellent knock of 91 by R Croker.

Rain delayed play at Taunton Deane, resulting in a 47-over match. Frome won the toss and elected to bowl.

Frome Town centurion Connor Roberts has confirmed his move to Southern League Premier Central side Banbury United.

The defender made more than 120 appearances for the club in his four years at Badgers Hill, after he signed from Biggleswade Town in the summer of 2015.

Frome Cricket Club ran out winners in the 2019 Somerset Cricket Board Major Cup on Sunday as they defeated North Perrott at the Cooper Associates County Ground in Taunton.

The Major Cup is open to all Somerset teams who play in the West of England Premier League with Frome overcoming Timsbury, Lansdown, an epic victory over Bath in the quarter finals and a semi-final win over Congresbury on the journey to Sunday's final day at Taunton.

A new table tennis club will be starting in Frome this month.

The Frome Town Table Tennis Club will meet for the first time on 27th June.
