The Westway Co-op in Frome is closing up, the Post Office which operates from inside the shop has confirmed.
They are now looking for someone to take on the post office responsibilities. Since it is the biggest office and busiest in Frome in terms of volumes of post, it will need a reasonable large outlet to take it on.

Households across Mendip will soon be asked to take part in Census 2021.
Taking place on 21 March 2021, the Census is a once-in-a-decade survey that gives us the most accurate estimate of all the people and households in England and Wales.
David Warburton MP has pledged his support for the Long Live the Local campaign to help pubs in his constituency of Somerton and Frome survive.
David joins over 500,000 people who have signed the petition so far, including 1126 in his constituency.

Frome Town FC has responded with disappointment to news that they will not be back playing this season.
The FA has announced that, after consultations with clubs, that it was not 'viable' to extend the season beyond May.

Somerset Community Foundation (SCF) is absolutely delighted to announce that the 2020/21 Surviving Winter appeal has smashed its target, raising an incredible, record-breaking £160,000, thanks to the generosity of local donors.
The annual appeal encourages those who can afford to, to donate some or all of their Winter Fuel Payment. These donations provide funding and support to our older and vulnerable neighbours across Somerset who, this year due to the need to stay at home during the coronavirus outbreak, are finding themselves cut off from family and friends, and facing higher than usual costs to heat their homes.Mendip could host a Universal Basic Income trial, in a bold bid to beat poverty and inequality.
Councillors keen to see a pilot introduced believe it would tackle the inevitable impacts on employment prospects and household incomes following fall-out from the Covid pandemic and other factors such as Brexit, future automation and artificial intelligence.

Local domestic abuse services and partners had the chance for their questions to be put to newly appointed Domestic Abuse (DA) Commissioner Nicole Jacobs as part of a virtual Q&A chaired by PCC Sue Mountstevens.
Over 60 colleagues from local victim services, Avon and Somerset Police and local authorities attended the virtual event, which aimed to give the new Domestic Abuse Commissioner the chance to share more information about her role and answer questions from those working with victims on the frontline.
