The director of Frome rugby and his faithful hound Finley

At the beginning of the month Frome RFC Director of Rugby, Cameron Hastie took on a gruelling challenge to run 100 miles in February, all in aid of the charity Bone Cancer Research Trust. Well, today he clocked in his final miles at Frome RFC's Gypsy Lane having raised a whopping £2025 and ran a astounding 201 miles.

We caught up with Cameron who said: "Firstly I'd like to thank everyone for their generosity and support over the month, it's been very humbling.

Campaigners have chosen a badger as their emblem, as there are several setts on the land

People living around the site of the old Broadway Allotments in Frome used their windows to illuminate the campaign to have Mendip District Council donate that land to Frome Town Council for use as a Community Allotment and Wildlife resource.

They took part in the Window Wanderland over the weekend to publicise their campaign which has now been active for twelve months.

Frome stonemason Stephen Barker

Frome stonemason Stephen Barker is rowing 500km for local charity Active and in Touch.

The challenge which Stephen started on 21st February will be over 100 days. Stephen aged 52, has recently lost 3 stone through following a healthy diet and a fitness regime. He started with a rowing machine in his house which has grown to a gym in his garage. Diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes, Stephen made the decision to change his lifestyle and is now successfully in remission.

An extract from the detail on the phosphate calculator

Somerset's four district councils and the county council have been working hard to minimise delay and uncertainty around planning applications following recent guidance over unacceptable amounts of phosphates in the Somerset Levels and Moors Ramsar site.

The local authorities are working in partnership to develop a way forward after Natural England advised that they should undertake a Habitats Regulations Assessment (HRA) before determining applications that may give rise to additional phosphates in the catchment area.
